Adverbs vs Adjectives 

Adjectives and adverbs: 

  • The word that modifies nouns is called adjectives and the word that modifies verbs is called adverb. 
  • Adjectives are used to modify nouns or pronouns
  • Adjectives modify nouns 

Example: 

I bought a new cell phone. 

The movie was funny. 

  • Adjectives modify pronouns 
    • That girl is so beautiful. 
    • He is kind and handsome. 
  • Adverbs are used to modify verbs, adjectives and other adverbs. 
  • Adverbs modify verbs
    • He entered the room quietly. 
    • John think seriously about today’s work. 
  • Adverbs modifies adjectives 
    • George is exceptionally beautiful.
    • You are too young to get married.  
  • Adverbs modify other adverbs
