The least common multiple (LCM) of two numbers is the lowest possible number that can be divisible by both numbers.

    Step1:
    We are given fractions 3 over 8 and 1 over 12
    And we have to find the LCM of denominators of the fractions i.e. 8 and 12.

    And the multiples of 12 are:12 comma space 24 comma 36 comma 48 comma 60 horizontal ellipsis

    Now we have to find the LCM of
    From the above multiples of 8 and 12 it can be easily seen that the least common multiple of 8 spaceand 12 is 24
    Hence the LCD of the 3 over 8and 1 over 12 is 24.
