Question
There are 2 yellow marbles, 4 red marbles, 6 blue marbles, and 3 green marbles in a bag. Miguel will choose a marble at random from the bag. The probability to get yellow marble is _________.
Hint:
We have to find the probability of getting yellow marble if a marble was picked randomly out of 2 yellow, 4 red, 6 blue and 3 green marbles. Firstly we will find the total number of outcomes which is the sum of the marbles in the bag, then we will find the number of possible outcomes i.e. the number of yellow marble. Further we will find the probability by dividing number of possible outcomes by total outcomes.
The correct answer is:
Total no. of outcomes = 2+4+6+3 = 15
no. of possible outcome ( no. of yellow marbles) = 2
Probability =
So, the probability of getting a yellow marble is .
