Question

In the figure above, MQ and NR intersect at point P, NP = QP  , and MP = PR  . What is the measure, in degrees, of ∠QMR ? (Disregard the degree symbol when gridding your answer.)

hintHint:

Triangle MPR is an isosceles triangle.

The correct answer is: 30 degrees

    Step by step solution:
In the given figure, it is given that MP = PR
We know that if a triangle has two sides of equal length, it is called an isosceles triangle
rightwards double arrowTriangle MPR is an isosceles triangle
We know that in an isosceles triangle the two angles opposite to the equal sides are congruent to each other i.e. they are equal
rightwards double arrowstraight angle PMR and straight angle PMR ware equal
    Let  straight angle PMR  = straight angle PMR =  x                   ---- (1)
Now, we can see that straight angle QPM = 180°       ( straight angle)
    angle M P R space plus space angle R P Q space equals space 180 degree
rightwards double arrow angle M P R space plus space 60 degree equals space 180 degree    ( in figure ÐRPQ = 60°)
rightwards double arrow angle M P R space equals space 120 degree
Now, we know that sum of all the angles of a triangle is  180°

    Hence, answer = 30°

The perimeter of the base is determined using the width and length of the box. If a box has a height of 60 inches and its length is 2.5 times the width, which inequality shows the allowable width x, in inches, of the box?
