Question
3(10 + 4) = 30 + 12 is an example of ________.
- Inverse Property
- Distributive Property
- Multiplicative Inverse
- Associative Property
Hint:
Distributive property is the law in which we can solve problems which are in the form a(b+c). To solve this type of problem we just have to multiply a with b and then c which can be written as ab+ ac and then finally add them. It is one of the common formula which is used to solve problems. Here, we have to solve the problem using distributive property.
The correct answer is: Distributive Property
In the question we have to find the property applied in the given problem 3(10 + 4) = 30 + 12.
We have to find the property applied in the problem 3(10 + 4) = 30 + 12.
We can solve 3(10 + 4) by multiplying 3 by 10 and 3 by 4 which can be written as 310 + 34.
On further solving 310 + 34 we get,
310 + 34
= 30+12
So, the property used here is distributive property.
Therefore, the correct option is b, i.e., Distributive property.
In distributive property we have to first multiply the numbers in the bracket by the number outside the bracket and then add the multiplication values rather than adding the terms in the bracket and then multiplying them. We have to apply the same to solve the above problem.
