Question

A band learns 4 to 6 new songs every month. The estimate for the number of songs the band will learn in 8 months is

  1. 20
  2. 40
  3. 30
  4. 60

hintHint:

Find minimum songs and maximum song it can learn in k months
min in k months = k x min song per month
max in k months = k x max song per month
So , answer will be in this range of min to max

The correct answer is: 40

4 to 6 songs per month given
estimate songs in 8 month = ?
so minimum songs in 8 month = 8 x 4 = 32
maximum songs in 8 month = 8 x 6 = 48
out of given options 40 lies between 32 and 48
So , it can learn an estimate of 40 songs , choice 2 is correct .
