Question

A garden contains 135 flowers, each of which is either red or yellow. There are 3 beds of yellow flowers and 3 beds of red flowers. There are 30 yellow flowers in each yellow flower bed.
Determine the equations that can represent the situation.

  1. 3x + 90 = 135
  2. 3x + 30 = 135
  3. 6x + 30 = 135
  4. 6(x + 5) = 135

hintHint:

In this question, we have to find the equation of given situation. Now garden contain 135 flowers, each of either red and yellow. The 3 beds of yellow and 3 beds of red flower. There are 30 flower in each yellow flower bed. Let consider the red flower be x and write the equation.

The correct answer is: 3x + 90 = 135

Here we have to write the equation of the given situation.
    Firstly, the given is ,
    There are total 135 flower,
    Let red flower be x,
Now there are 3 bed of yellow flower and each bed having 30 yellow flower.
    So the total yellow flower is, 3 x 30 = 90 ,
Now, there are total three bed of yellow flower and 3 bed of red flower ,
Then the equation of total flower is,
    90 + 3x = 135 ,
    After solving, x = 15
    Therefore, the correct answer is 3x + 90 = 135.

In this question , we have to write the equation of the given situation. The yellow flower is given in each beds is 30 so total is 90 because of 3 beds the variable is here is red flower because it is not given and we have to find the red flower.
