Question
Find the answer to this equation 2(3 + 4) = ? (Distributive Property)
- 2 × 3 + 2 × 4
- 7 + 13
- 2 + 5 + 2 + 8
- 2 × 3
Hint:
Distributive property is the law in which we can solve problems which are in the form a(b+c). To solve this type of problem we just have to multiply a with b and then c which can be written as ab+ ac and then finally add them. It is one of the common formula which is used to solve problems. Here, we have to solve the problem using distributive property.
The correct answer is: 2 × 3 + 2 × 4
In the question there is a problem 2(3 + 4) which we have to solve using distributive property.
Here, we have to find the solution for the problem 2(3 + 4) using distributive problem.
On using distributive property we get,
2(3 + 4)
= (2 × 3)+(2 × 4)
So, the problem can be solved by multiplying 2 by both 3 and 4, i.e., (2 × 3)+(2 × 4).
Therefore, the correct option is a, i.e., (2 × 3)+(2 × 4).
In distributive property we have to first multiply the numbers in the bracket by the number outside the bracket and then add the multiplication values rather than adding the terms in the bracket and then multiplying them. We have to apply the same to solve the above problem.
