Question

It was observed that the wheel of the bicycle has 18 spokes. If there are 1296 spokes, then determine the number of bicycles we can fit using them.

  1. 36
  2. 28
  3. 39
  4. 40

hintHint:

In this question first, we found no. of tires can be made with 1296 spokes and divided the answer by 2 to obtain no of bicycles.

The correct answer is: 36

Step 1 of 1:
In this question, we were given no. of spokes required to make one bicycle tyre and also asked to find no. of bicycle tyres that can be made from 1296 spokes.
No. of spokes required for one tyre = 18
No. of tyres can be made with 1296 spokes = 1296/18 = 72
As we know each bicycle has two tyres so no of bicycles can be made is 72/2 = 36
Final Answer:
The right choice is-- a. 36
