Subtracting (3) and (4),
−y =−5 or y = 5
Substituting y = 5 in (1), we get
8x + 25 = 9
8x=−16
x = −2
x = − 2,y = 5
Therefore, the solution of following pair linear equation is x= -2 and y = 5.
