Question
Solve the system:
3x - 2y = 12
y = 3
- y = 4
- (6, 3)
- (2, 6)
- no solution
Hint:
Here we have to solve the system. Given equations are, 3x – 2y = 12 and y = 3. Use the basic concept and solve this question by substitution method.
The correct answer is: (6, 3)
Here we have to solve the system.
Firstly , we are given with equation which is ,
3x – 2y = 12 …(i)
y = 3 …(ii)
Use substitution method, Put y = 3 in equation (1) ,Or we can say that
Substituting y from (ii) in (i), we get
3x – 2(3) = 12
3x – 6 = 12
x = 6
Therefore, x = 6 and y = 3.
The correct answer is ( 6 , 3)
In this question, we have already given the value of y. Using substitution, method we are easily to solve this particular problem.
