Question

The cost of 1 Burger is $3.0, form a linear equation for the proportional relationship, then the slope of the linear equation is

  1. 1
  2. 3
  3. 1 third
  4. 2

hintHint:

Constant of proportionality is the same as the slope of a straight line passing through the origin. Using the formula m=y over x  we can find the value of slope or constant of proportionality. Here, we have to find the slope of the given linear equation using the given information in the question.

The correct answer is: 3

    In the question it is given that, the cost of 1 Burger is $3.0.
    We have to find the slope of the linear equation.
    Here, x= the number of burger and y= the price of burger
    So, x= 1 and y= 3.
    Slope= m= y over x.               .........................(1)
    Put the value of x and y inn eq. 1.
    rightwards double arrow m equals 3 over 1
rightwards double arrow m equals space 3
    Thus, the slope of the given equation is 3.
    Therefore, the correct option is b, i.e., 3.
