Question
A conical tent can accommodate 11 persons . Every person need 4 sq. m of land 20 cm3 of air. Find the height of the tent just for 11 persons .
- 5m
- 10m
- 15m
- 20m
The correct answer is: 15m
We have given a conical tent for 11 persons
Every person requires 4 sq.m of land
So, 11 persons will require = 11 x 4 = 44 sq.m of land
Therefore, Area of base of tent = 44 sq.cm
Every person requires 20cm3 volume of air
So, 11 persons will require = 11 x 20 = 220 cm3 of air
Therefore, Volume of tent = 220 cm3
We have to find the height of tent
We know that
Volume of a cone = (1/3)πr2h
Area of base = πr2
Let us divide both these formulas to get the value of height
h = 15
Therefore, the height of the given tent is 15 m
Therefore, the correct option is c) 15 m
Therefore, the height of the given tent is 15 m
Therefore, the correct option is c) 15 m
