Question
A Group of students collected as many paise from each member of the group as is the number of members . If the total collection amounts to Rs 59.29 , what is the number of members in the group ?
The correct answer is: 77
Solution
Hint :- Given students collected as many paise from each member of the group as is the number of members
i.e amount paid by each student = no.of students in group.
Total amount = amount paid by each student * no.of students in the group
Ans :- 770
Explanation :-
Let the no,of students in the group be a
Given students collected as many paise from each member of the group as is the number of members
amount paid by each student = no.of students in group = a.
The total collection amounts to Rs 59.29 = 59.29 × 100 = 5929 paise
Total amount = amount paid by each student × no.of students in the group
Apply factorization method to find root.
5929 =7 × 847
=7 × 7 × 121
=7 × 7 × 11 × 11
We get a = 77.
Therefore, no.of members in the group is 77.

In the xy-plane, line passes through the points (0, 1) and (1, 4). Which of the following is an equation of line ?
Note:
The points on a line in the xy-plane always satisfy the equation of the line. Here, notice that both (0, 1) and (1, 4) satisfy the equation y=3x + 1 . So, an alternate way of doing this problem is to check which equation in the options is satisfied by the given points.
