Question
If A, B and C can finish a piece of work in 12 days, 15 days and 20 days respectively If all the three work at it together and they are paid Rs 960 for the whole work, how should the money be divided among them ?
- Rs 400, Rs 320, Rs 240
- Rs 400, Rs 360, Rs 200
- Rs 400, 460, Rs 100
- none of these
Hint:
Given,
A's one days work=1/12
B's one days work=1/15
C's one days work=1/20
Now divide 960 in ratio of work
i.e. 1/12:1/15:1/20
5:4:3
so share of each
A's=5*960/(5+4+3)=400 similarly
B's =4*960/(5+4+3)=320
C's=3*960/(5+4+3)=240
The correct answer is: Rs 400, Rs 320, Rs 240
Given A, B and C can finish a piece of work in 12 days, 15 days and 20 days respectively then we have to find that ,if all the three work at it together and they are paid Rs 960 for the whole work, how the money should be divided among them.
Therefore, the money should be divided in the ratio of 5:4:3
i.e, A's share=400
B's share=320
C's share=240
