Question

A converging mirror M subscript 1 end subscript, a point source S and a diverging mirror M subscript 2 end subscript are arranged as shwon in figure. The source is placed at a distance of 30cm from M subscript 1 end subscript. The focal length of each of the mirrors is 20cm. Consider only the images formed by a maximum of two reflections. It is found that one image is formed on the source itself. Find the distance between the two mirrors.

  1. 25cm
  2. 100cm
  3. 70cm
  4. 50cm
