Question
Solve System of equations using Substitution :
Y = 6X + 7
3X - 8Y = 4
Hint:
find x by substituting y (in terms of x) in the equation and find y by substituting value of x in the equations.
The correct answer is: x = 2 ; y = 1
Ans :- x = 2 ; y = 1
Explanation :-
y = 6x + 7— eq 1
3x – 8y = 4—- eq 2
Step 1 :- find x by substituting y = 6x + 7 in eq 2.
3x – 8 (6x + 7) = 4 ⇒ 3x - 48x – 56 = 4
⇒ - 45x = 4 + 56
⇒- 45x = 60
4/3
⇒ x = -1.33
Step 2 :- substitute value of x and find y
⇒ y = 5-2x ⇒ y = 5-2()
⇒ y = 5+
Y = 7.66
∴ x = -1.33 and y = 7.66 is the solution of the given pair of equations.
