Question

Elise fills a waffle cone with ice cream exactly level to the top of the cone. If the cone has a diameter of 2 3/8 inches and a height of 6 inches, how much ice cream does the waffle cone hold? Write your answer in terms of π. Round to the nearest hundredth.

  1.  2.82π in3
  2.  2.81π in3
  3.  2.83π in3
  4.  2.84π in3

hintHint:

Volume of Cone   =   1 third πr squared straight h

The correct answer is: 2.82π in3

    Given a Cone with radius of 238  inches = 198  inches

    and the height of 6  inches .

    Ice cream it can hold is = volume of cone

    Volume = ? .

    Volume of Cone   =   1 third πr squared straight h

     taking pi = 3.14

    putting the values

    volume =  13π198198 6 =  11.28π  in3

    So , 11.28 π  in3  is the ice cream cone can hold .
