The data set 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 9, 9, 10, 12, 14, 17, 17, 18, 19, 19 represents the number of hours spent on the Internet in a week by students in a mathematics class.

The correct answer is:


    The given data is in ascending order.

     5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 9, 9, 10, 12, 14, 17, 17, 18, 19, 19  

    From observation Minimum value = 5 and Maximum value = 19 

    A total of 15 elements are present as 15 ( 7+1+7 )

     So, the 8th element is the middle element 

    5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 9, 9, 10(8th element), 12, 14, 17, 17, 18, 19, 19  

    median = 10.
    As per representation the start point of the line of box plot (i.e min ) should lie at 5 and the end point of the line of box plot (i.e max ) should lie at 19. Also, the vertical line that lies inside the box is median should lie at 10.
