From 2
2x – y = -2
-y = -2 – 2x
y = 2x + 2
Substituting y in 1st equation,
5x – 4(2x + 2) = 1
5x – 8x - 8 = 1
-3x - 8 = 1
-3x = 9
x = -1
y = 2x + 2
= 2(-1) + 2
=-4 + 2
= -2
The correct answer is: -1, -2
