    In the question the given equations are
    5x + 2y = -13          ....................(1)
    -x – 2y = 1               ...................(2)
    Step 1: Add eq. 1 with eq. 2.
    5x+2y=-13
    -x-2y=1
    ------------------
    4x            =-12
    rightwards double arrow 4 x equals negative 12
rightwards double arrow x equals fraction numerator negative 12 over denominator 4 end fraction
rightwards double arrow x equals negative 3
    So, the value of x is -3.
    Step 2: Put the value of x in eq. 2.
    Put the value of x= -3 in eq. 2.

    rightwards double arrow3-2y=1
    rightwards double arrow-2y=1-3
    rightwards double arrow-2y=-2

    So, the value of y is 1.
    Thus, the solutions are -3,1.
    Therefore, the correct option is c, i.e., -3,1.

    We can solve the equation in two variable using elimination method, substitution method and cross multiplication method. In elimination method we can find the solution of the two variables by cancelling one variable by adding, multiplying or subtracting both the equations from which we will get the value of one variable. After getting the value of one variable we can put the value of that variable in equation and get the value of another variable.
