Question

The length of side of an equilateral triangular garden whose perimeter is 66cm is

  1. 22 cm
  2. 33 cm
  3. 44 cm
  4. 11 cm

hintHint:

We are given the length of the perimeter of an equilateral garden. We have to find the length of its sides. We will use the properties of equilateral triangle.

The correct answer is: 22 cm

    The length of all sides of an equilateral triangle is same.
    Let the length of the equilateral triangle be “x”.
    The given value of perimeter is 66cm.
    Perimeter is the sum of length of sides of any shape.
    Equilateral triangle has 3 sides with equal length.
    We can write
    Perimeter = 3x
    66 = 3x
    Rearranging the equation.
    3x = 66
    Dividing both the sides by 3
    x = 22 cm
    Therefore, the length of side of the given equilateral triangle is 22 cm.

    For such questions, we should know the properties of equilateral triangle.
