Identify the transformation and find the values of a and b.
The correct answer is: a = - 10 and b = - 5
HINT – Mirror image of the original figure is created about axis of reflection
SOL – We know that reflection is mirror image of given point where axis of reflection act as plain mirror. Here vertical line act as axis of reflection.
When a point is reflected about y – axis, then the y – coordinate remains same, but the x – coordinate becomes negative.
It is given that (𝑥 , 𝑦) → ( - 𝑥 , 𝑦).
i.e. (10 , - 5 ) → (- 10 , - 5)
So, a = - 10 and b = - 5
