7x - y = 49 ….................................................. (Equation i)
7x + y = 343 …............................................... (Equation ii)
Adding Equations I & ii, we get-
7x - y = 49
+ 7x + y = 343
14x = 392
∴ x = 392/14
∴ x = 28 ............................................... (Equation iii)
Substituting Equation iii in Equation i, we get-
7x - y = 49
∴ 7(28) - y = 49
∴ 196 - y = 49
∴ 196 - 49 = y
∴ 147 = y
i.e. y = 147
Final Answer:-
∴ Value of x & y for the given set of equations are 28 & 147, respectively.
