For the exponential function f, the table shows some values of x and the corresponding values of f (x). The function can be written in the form f left parenthesis x right parenthesis equals p r to the power of x, where p and r are constants. What is the value of r ?

    Step 1 :- substitute x =0 ,f(x) = 9 in the given equation
    f left parenthesis x right parenthesis equals p r to the power of x not stretchy rightwards double arrow 9 equals p left parenthesis r right parenthesis to the power of 0 not stretchy rightwards double arrow p left parenthesis 1 right parenthesis equals 9
    therefore p equals 9
    Step 2:-substitute p = 9 at x = 1 and f(x) = 12
    f left parenthesis x right parenthesis equals p r to the power of x not stretchy rightwards double arrow 12 equals 9 left parenthesis r right parenthesis to the power of 1 not stretchy rightwards double arrow 9 left parenthesis r right parenthesis equals 12 not stretchy rightwards double arrow r equals 12 over 9
