Question

The histogram summarizes the distribution of a data set composed of 50 integers. The first bar represents the number of integers that are at least 0 but less than 5. The second bar represents the number of integers that are at least 5 but less than 10 , and so on. What is a possible value of the median of the data set?

The correct answer is: 10 - 14

HINT :- median is the middle value of the given set of elements
The data from histogram is made into a table.

Total no.of elements = 50 (even) , we get middle elements as 25 and 26
So the average of (25 th + 26 th) elements is median .
    So, the median will lie within range 10 - 14 i.e median can be 10 , 11 , 12 , 13 and 14.

The score on a trivia game is obtained by subtracting the number of incorrect answers from twice the number of correct answers. If a player answered 40 questions and obtained a score of 50, how many questions did the player answer correctly?

An equation is given in the form of ax + by + c=0. Here, 'a' and 'b' are real values and coefficients of x and y. Then, the equation is said to be a linear equation within the two variables. Examples of linear equations with two variables include x+4y = 3 and -x+5y = 2. Solution of a Linear Equation in 2 Variables: A pair of numbers (x, y), one for 'x' and the other for 'y,' that make the two sides of the equation equal. It is the solution of a linear equation in 2 variables. For instance, (0,4) is one of the answers if 2x + y = 4 since it satisfies the equation. A two-variable linear equation has infinite solutions.
