Question
Find the area of Rhombus whose perimeter is 48cm and altitude is 8 5 cm
-
-
-
- none of these
Hint:
We are given the perimeter of a rhombus. It is 48cm. We are given the altitude of the rhombus. We have to find the area of the rhombus. We will use properties of a rhombus.
The correct answer is:
The perimeter of rhombus is 48cm.
Altitude of rhombus is 8.5cm
Perimeter means the sum of length of the sides of a shape.
Rhombus has all sides equal.
Let the side of the rhombus be “x”.
As there are four equal sides we can write
Perimeter = 4x
48 = 4x
Rearranging the equation
4x = 48
Dividing both the sides by 4 we get,
x = 12cm
So, the length of the side of rhombus is 12cm.
We have to find area.
Area = base × altitude
Here, we can take any side as base as all are equal.
Area = 12 × 8.5
= 102 sq. cm
As no option matches the given value, the right answer is none.
For such questions, we should know area and perimeter of different shapes. We should know properties of different shape.
