∴ multiply equation 2 by 2
⇒ [m + p = 10] × 2
⇒ 2m + 2p = 20 —---- eq.3
Step 3:
Now subtract equation eq. 3 from eq.1
⇒ 3m + 2p = 24
- 2m - 2p = - 20

m = 4
Step 4:
Put m = 4 in equation 2
m + p = 10
4 + p = 10
p = 10 - 4
p = 6
∴ (m₁ p₁) = (4, 6)
Hence, the value P₁ is 6.
