The correct answer is: Both A and C


    • The law that explains this is the law of conservation of mass and the law of constant proportion. 
    • The Law of conservation of mass states that in a chemical reaction, the mass of reactant and products is conserved. It explains that in an isolated system, mass can neither be created nor destroyed. As we can see here, 25 g of A and 50 g of B form 75 g of reactants and on the other side, 25g of unreacted D and 50 g of C again make 75 grams of the product. Since the amount is the same, it proves the law of conservation of mass. 
    • The law of constant proportion states that chemical compounds are composed of elements that are known to be present in a fixed ratio by mass. As given, 25g of A combines with 50 g of B to give 50 g of C. Thus, 25 g of B is consumed only by 25 g of A. The ratio still comes out to be 1:1. This proves the law of constant proportion. 

    Law of definite proportion and Proust's law are the other names of law of constant proportion.
