Here the number we have given is $square root of 131$ . Now we have to find in which two numbers it lies. First we will find the squares of each number starting from 1 and then when we will reach till 131 we will stop that.
Lets start with 1, we have:
$1 squared equals 1 2 squared equals 4 3 squared equals 9 4 squared equals 16 5 squared equals 25 6 squared equals 36 7 squared equals 49 8 squared equals 64 9 squared equals 81 10 squared equals 100 11 squared equals 121 12 squared equals 144$
Lets equate this now:
121 < 131 < 144
Taking square root on all, we get:
$square root of 121 space less than space square root of 131 space less than space square root of 144$
Simplifying it, we get:
$11 space less than space square root of 131 space less than space 12$
So here we can see that 131 is lying between 121 and 144, which is 11² and 12².
