Question

A can complete a piece of work in 15 days. B can complete it in 10 days. With the help of C, they can complete the work in 4 days. They all worked together and earned a total of Rs. 750. Find C’s share

  1. Rs 200
  2. Rs 300
  3. Rs 250
  4. Rs 500

hintHint:

The given question is about work and the wages. There are three people A, B, C. A takes 15 days to complete a work. B takes 10 days to complete a work. A, B and C do the same work in 4 days. They earn Rs. 750 total. We have to find the share of C. We will find work done by them each day. We will use this information to solve it further.

The correct answer is: Rs 500

We will write the given function.
Days taken by A to do the work is 15.
Work done by A in 1 day is
    A = 1/15
Days taken by B do the work is 10.
Work done by B in 1 day is
    B =1/10
Let the number of days take by C = x
Work done by C in one day = 1 over x
    Days required when A, B , and C work together is 4.
Work done by them together in 1 day is 1 fourth
We will equate the values. We can add their one day work and get the work done by them in a day together.
    A + B + C = 1 fourth
    1 over 151 over 101 over x1 fourth
    1 over x = 1 fourth1 over 151 over 10
    L.C.M of R.H.S is 60
1 over x = fraction numerator 15 space minus space 4 minus 6 over denominator 60 end fraction
    1 over x = 1 half
Now, we will take the ratio of the work done in one day
    A:B:C = 1 over 15 colon 1 over 10 colon 1 over 12
    L.C.M is 60
So, we can write the ratio as
    A:B:C = 4:6:5
    The total number of parts
    = A+B+C
    = 4+6+5
    = 15
Part of C from it is 5 over 15
    So,
    Share of C = 5 over 15 × 750
    = 5 × 50
    = 250
So, share of C is Rs 250

L.C.M is the least common multiple. We should know the concepts of work and wages.
