Question
The perimeter of a trapezium is 52cm .Its non parallel sides are equal to 10cm each and its altitude is 8cm. Find the area of the trapezium ?
Hint:
The perimeter of trapezium = sum of lengths of non parallel sides + sum
lengths of parallel sides. we find the sum lengths of parallel sides.
And substitute in the below formula
Now , find the area of Trapezium = ½ height × (sum of lengths of parallel sides).
The correct answer is: 128 cm2
Ans :- 128 cm2.
Explanation :-
Given, side length of non parallel sides is 10 cm each
Altitude or height = 8 cm.
So, the sum of lengths of non parallel sides = 10+10 = 20 cm .
Perimeter = 52 cm
Step 1:- find the sum lengths of parallel sides.
The perimeter of trapezium = sum of lengths of non parallel sides + sum lengths of parallel sides.
52 = 20 + sum lengths of parallel sides
sum lengths of parallel sides = 52 - 20 = 32 cm .
Step 2:- Find the area of trapezium and substitute them in the formula.
Therefore, the area of trapezium = 128 cm2.

The circumference of Earth is estimated to be 40,030 kilometers at the equator. Which of the following best approximates the diameter, in miles, of Earth's equator? (1 kilometer miles)
Note:
There are many other units of length which are often used. For example: inch, foot, yard, centimetre, parsec, lightyear, nanometre, etc. They measure anything between atoms to a galaxy.
Some relations between them are given by
1 kilometer = 39370.0787 inches = 3280.84 feet = 100000 centimetre
1 mile = 63357 inches = 5279.75 feet = 160926.94 centimetre

A certain colony of bacteria began with one cell, and the population doubled every 20 minutes. What was the population of the colony after 2 hours?
Note:
This is a logical question and doesn’t require any prior knowledge except the idea of multiplication. This could also be solved by simply making a table with an interval of 20 min and population which is multiplies by 2 in consecutive cells till we get 2 hours.
